Get Involved!

During this Spring, we are meeting weekly on Wednesdays at 12 PM in-person and via Zoom! If you or anyone you know (students, faculty, staff, alumni, general community members) are interested, have any questions, or would like to learn more, please email us at blackbearmutualaid@gmail.com or fill out the Black Bear Mutual Aid Fund Interest Form! This is a project that will need help from as many people from as many backgrounds as possible!

You can also subscribe to our newsletter!

VOLUNTEER

We have several volunteer opportunities within the Black Bear Mutual Aid Fund organization, including Board of Directors roles, outreach committee, fundraising committee, funding distribution committee, impact assessment committee, and general volunteer positions. Anyone who has some affiliation with the University of Maine can be a volunteer - you do not have to be a student, faculty, or staff to help out! The best ways to get involved as a volunteer are to attend our meetings or reach out to us at blackbearmutualaid@gmail.com

DONATE

Anyone can donate to the Black Bear Mutual Aid Fund! If you want to help the University of Maine community, this is a great way to make an immediate and lasting impact. Your donations will go directly to students, faculty, and staff at the University of Maine who are facing financial hardships and emergencies. Through mutual aid, we emphasize solidarity in community. Donating funds is not a hierarchical position of power-over, but rather an expression of care and solidarity for our fellow community members who we stand with through the ups and downs of life.

SPREAD THE WORD

You can help us broaden our impact by spreading the word about the Black Bear Mutual Aid Fund as a resource and organization! Subscribe to our newsletter, follow us on social media, and share our content with the people you know! We need your help with educating the University of Maine community and letting people know that we are here to help. We appreciate your support more than you know, and we can’t wait to see the community come together to make the University of Maine a better place.
